These photos of Lokum's pups with Nicholas the young Nubian buck are so sweet.  All has gone so well this past week that we started letting Nicholas stay with the pups as he wishes 24 hours a day 7 days a week.   The pups just love Nicholas and he loves being with the pups.

Nicholas has decided he likes a taste of the pups dog food and these photos are of him sharing a meal with the puppies.  In one photo, Ma Lokum decided to join in on the meal as well.

So much is going on this week and Ed & I are more than pleased with this litter of puppies.  They are showing their Kangal Livestock heritage as they live with Nicholas.

Ed and I wished our camera took photos at night as so many cute shots would be after dark.  You would have to see how the puppy/buck pen is set up to understand all involved and how dearly these puppies and Nicholas love each other.  The back part of the pen where the pups hut is, is the size of a football field.  There is a paddock area with a round white hut in the front of this field connected with a gate.

Nicholas splits his time between the back pen and the puppy hut and the paddock in the front and the white hut.  Many times when we go out after dark to give the pups their evening feeding Nicholas is either sleeping with all the pups in their hut in the back field OR the pups have followed Nicholas to the paddock and are sleeping with him in his white hut.

These Kangal puppies display excellent livestock guardian temperament and the desire to be with and live with the livestock that is their family.  Very nice litter of pups.

Sunday 11/25/07.  One of the cutest things I have ever seen occurred today.  I tried to hard to get photos but could not.

Nicholas (the buck) was walking from the back pasture to the front paddock.  There behind him in a perfect row were all of the puppies in a line following him.  It was the cutest thing I had ever seen.  The pups were following in a line like baby chicks behind their mom.

Naturally when I ran to get the camera the moment was lost.  Hopefully they will do it again.
