Week Five
Home Up Week One Week Two Week Three Week Four Week Five Week Six Week Seven Week Eight

This past week was a very busy week on the farm with the puppies.  A LOT was done with them and they are growing up so fast.  The next few weeks will be VERY busy with all we plan on exposing the puppies too.  For a long time they eat and grow.  Then all of a sudden a LOT of work needs to be done in a very short time.

We continued to socialize the pups.  We had 5 different people come over to the farm this week to touch, hold, and play with the puppies.

Also while the pups were in the barn during the first part of the week we pounded in T posts which made a lot of racket.  We were building doe pens for kidding and the pups were exposed to all the action.

We also played various radio stations so they heard all sorts of music and different sounds and voices involved with radio stations.

The snow showers, sleet, wind, and rain finally stopped and we were able to move the puppies to their outside home.  So, now the pups are being exposed to a new home as well as everything involved with being outside.

They also have met a new dog, Dallas our Rat Terrier.  This helps with exposure to another dog other than their mom and a little dog as well.  Dallas had fun seeing the puppies, supervising all activity, and sharing part of their meal with them.

Ed then loaded the puppies up in a cart behind our tractor.  We took the puppies for a tractor ride with Dallas our Rattie and Mom Lokum supervising very closely.  This helps the pups learn about motion and movement under them.  Our intentions is that this should help with a ride in the car and transport in the future at their new homes.

In the photo on your left the pups are loaded and ready to go.  The photo on your right was taken from the seat of the tractor looking back as we rode down the trail with the puppies.  They are such nice pups.
