About Safak's Breeding/Pedigree

A little about the breeders. The Odaci brothers have very beautiful dogs with excellent temperament. They are dedicated to the Kangal breed and their aim is to sell to good working homes. All their dogs work sheep, and the pups are line bred on excellent working parents. We are so happy and honored to have such nice pups. This is the Odaci's web site www.kangal55. de

A little about Safak's breeding. Safak and Hedyie are from a very special old legendary blood line of Kangal dogs in Kangal dating back to . They are from very good old Kangal lines that are almost extinct dating back to 1893.

Filiz, the dam of the pups was bred by Turhan Kangal, and is pretty much the last dog in his very old lines. Filiz was a working dog with sheep in Turkey, owned by Ahmet Gokay until she was sold and moved to Germany at 5 years of age.

Filiz's sire is Turhan Kangal's famous Ballak and the Grandsire is the even more famous Tarzan. Duman the sire of the pups is a son of Ejder, who was best young dog at the festival 2001. Duman's mother is Odaci's Ceylan a daughter of Duman I, owned by Abdurrahman Sisman in Kangal. His father is the old Aslan who is also a festival winner.

Safak and Hedyie are from very precious old lines of Turhan Kangal. They are big strong dogs with perfect working ability and character. They were chosen very carefully.

This is an exceptional photo that I took on 7/16/06. In this photo you see from left to right (dogs) Inca, Safak, and Hediye. All 3 were out with Shetland Sheep 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Yasemin, Inca's dam is with them in the fields as well.

In this photo the three pups had found a little stick and were playing with it. This little Shetland trusts these pups so much that he came over to see what they had. In this moment, caught on film, the little Shetland took the stick from the pups mouths and then turned and walked off with the dogs toy.

Such wonderful livestock dogs. They let the little Shetland have their toy. I am so very proud of them all.
