In January 1983 it was announced that in the future there would be 2 separate registers  Anatolian Shepherd Dogs (Akbash) White, long coated and lighter bodies and Anatolian Shepherd Dogs (Karabash) Mastiff type, short coated, Cream to Fawn with Black Mask and Ears or Brindle.
