I feel VERY fortunate to live a few miles to the East from Great Northern Weaving. I feel like a child in a candy shop with this company so close at hand. Great Northern specializes in: Rag Rug scraps, Rug Warps, Rug Wefts, Rag Crochet Supplies, Yarns of all kinds and colors, Books, craft supplies, Weaving Equipment, Loom Parts, Orco (formerly Union) and Kessinech looms. Kessinech hand made looms are located just a few miles north of my home In Allegan, MI.
Bruce makes the most wonderful handcrafted looms imaginable. I dearly love to make rugs on the loom and to do so, the loom must be VERY sturdy. I can weave and beat the rugs on Bruce's looms with not having to worry about stability.

Kalamazoo Institute of Arts is a great place. I have been taking weaving
on the floor looms for years and have made many great fiber friends. Spin off magazine
is about making yarn by hand. It is for those folks that are interested in
hand spinning. Whether a beginner or an advanced spinner, Spin-off
nurtures success and encourages continues discovery in the jobs of this timeless
craft. Handwoven provides ideas, inspiration, and instructions to handweavers of all skill levels. It features articles on techniques, history, & projects for the home and clothing. PixeLoom is a software program designed for Handweavers. This program is used for editing drafts, planning projects, and virtual sampling. Fiberworks is a weaving design software program for Handweavers. There are three levels of proficiency (Bronze, Silver, & Silver Plus packages) to suite individual needs. This program assists handweavers with designing, weaving, loom control, and publishing.
