If you would like to be on a waiting list for a male puppy from this litter in case Lokum has more pus than we have reservations for, please contact us. Both Lokum & Maverick are SUPERIOR working Kangals and have worked livestock all their lives. They both have fantastic temperaments and have produced pups with excellent penn hip scores. I can not say enough good things about these two proven Kangal dogs. Maverick & Lokum have produced MANY fine working pups with EXCELLENT working ability & temperament. Their pups have made fantastic home companions as well. I have written up the stories of 3 of their pups. One is in Alaska protecting livestock from bears - Click here to read this story. Another is in Florida protecting livestock from many different predators - Click there to read that story. A third is in Michigan working rare breed poultry - Click here to read this story. Another of their pups has the BEST Penn Hip scores ever recorded to date. Berk lives in Alaska and keeps bears away from his stock. His hip scores are L hip - 0.27 & R hip 0.19. 2011 1. New Dawn and Doga Farms Ancient Warrior will provide valuable new genetics for the Kangal gene pool. We will accept 2 (two) more reservation for male pups & 2 (two) more reservations for female pups from this breeding - Updated 8/7/2010 2. Hediye will be bred with Doga Farms Ancient Warrior. Hediye is my special love and a wonderful gal. Odaci's Hediye is a FANTASTIC female. She is from very old, precious, and almost extinct working lines that date back toTurkey in 1893. Her sire is the FAMOUS Duman Dozer who has won Best of Breed and European Champion at Dortmund both 2006 & 2007. She produced excellent puppies last year - 2009. We will accept 2 (two) more reservation for male pups & 2 (two) more reservations for female pups from this breeding - Updated 8/7/2010 We are available to the owners of our dogs for questions and assistance both as new puppy owners and owners of the dogs for years to come. The Yahoo Group Kangal Enthusiasts was started just for this purpose. We can't answer questions if they are never asked. We also try to be of assistance to people that want to learn more about the Kangal breed and if this breed of dog is right for them. We will help in any way we can and with the knowledge and experience we have. Turkish Guardian dogs are a very unique and awesome type of dog. They most certainly are not for everyone. We can help you decide if this is the breed for you. On your left is Inca greeting one of her newborn pups. On your right is a little Nubian buck sharing a meal of milk with a litter of Lokum's pups. Our Imported Kangals are from very strong working lines. We have carefully chosen the lines of dogs for their wonderful temperament, excellent working ability, and great conformation. It is our goal to preserve the rare breed of working Turkish Kangal Dogs by trying to place as many of our puppies in working homes as possible. This does not mean that they don't make excellent companion and family dogs. They most certainly do. But, we have found over the years that if we breed for the traits we wish to see in our working lines, those same traits carry over to produce excellent family companions as well. We have been a Predator Friendly farm for over 14 years. We practice various management strategies and have used livestock guardian dogs for many years. Our goal is to keep our livestock safe as well as helping to maintain the ecosystem of our area. Kangal livestock guardian dogs offer a humane option for coexistence with carnivores. We carefully screen potential adoptive parents of our pups. Please ask to see our Kangal Puppy Contract. We also work very hard to place the right dog in the right home and the right working situation. We will be very happy to talk with you to see if the Kangal is the breed of dog for you. Kangals are not for everyone. Thank you, Ed and Char |
