Nero at 6 months of age. Nero 3/2002. Basking in our Michigan sun.
Nero passed away quietly and
comfortably in his sleep on our farm. We knew that time was
drawing closer as 3 of our LDG's (Yasemin, Arkadas, and Tiki) had formed a 1/2
circle around the outside of his hut entrance to protect him and watch over him
as they knew he was weak. Those wonderful dogs did not leave his
side for 3 days except for Tiki. Tiki would climb the fence to
attend her pups and then climb the fence again and come right back and lay at
his
door.
He was well loved and had a very good home with us. He loved to graze and was a very gently giant. We will always have him in our hearts and he will remain in our herd through his offspring. We named his last son to us and wonderful gift Nero's Shadow.
Nero was a New Zealand Import (African Goat Flocks LTD.) that produced Awesome offspring! Nero produces kids that are very large, very tall, have exceptional height and width, are meaty and well balanced. He is known for producing exceptionally large offspring. Nero is one HUGE boy, and a genetic goldmine! He has been an awesome addition to our herd.
