Kangal Shepherd Dogs
All
of our Kangal Dogs are Registered Kangals with the United Kennel Club.

This photo shows THREE GENERATIONS of WORKING
Kangal dogs on our farm. Far left is Yasemin. Middle is Inca (Yasemin's
daughter), and right is Yasemin's Granddaughter - 10/17/08.
Our Imported Kangals are from
very strong working lines. We have carefully chosen the lines of dogs for
their wonderful temperament, excellent working ability, and great conformation.
It is our goal to preserve the rare breed of working Turkish Kangal Dogs
by trying to place as many of our puppies in working homes as possible.
This does not mean that they
don't make excellent companion and family dogs. They most certainly do.
But, we have found over the years that if we breed for the traits we wish to see
in our working lines, those same traits carry over to produce excellent family
companions as well.
Our breeding philosophy is
that will only breed the very best of the best Kangals that we own. The
dogs have to prove themselves to be magnificent working LGD's with exceptional
personalities. We carefully consider the traits of the dogs to be bred and
pair them for breeding accordingly balancing in concert both strengths and
weaknesses.
Just because we own the dog does not mean that dog will
exhibit the traits we feel are paramount for preserving the excellent working
kangal with excellent temperament. Some of the dogs will never be bred.
We have been a Predator
Friendly farm for over 11 years. We practice various management strategies
and have used livestock guardian dogs for many years. Our goal is to keep
our livestock safe as well as helping to maintain the ecosystem of our area.
Kangal livestock guardian dogs offer a humane option for coexistence with
carnivores.
We carefully screen potential
adoptive parents of our pups. We also work very hard to place the right
dog in the right home and the right working situation.
We will be very happy to talk
with you to see if the Kangal is the breed of dog for you. Kangals are not
for everyone
