This winter we have had quite a bit of snow at the farm. The three photos are of Maverick. He is such a sweet natured Kangal male and is the most muscular male. Photos 1/30/09

These are the Nubian goats that Maverick currently guards - Photo 10/14/08. Maverick is a working Kangal dog 24 hours a day 7 days a week. "Mav" has been the guardian of: goats, sheep horses, geese, and Guinea hens. He easily adapts to any livestock he is to guard and is trusted & loved by all. He done a perfect job as a livestock guardian since a very small puppy. Maverick has the most wonderful personality of any Kangal male I have ever seen. Mav Is a proven stud and is a one in a million sire. The pups he has sired have been fantastic. He is the Misty Acres Aslan's Penn Hip scores are: .22 left hip & .22 right hip - EXCELLENT hips. Misty Acres Berk's Penn Hip scores are: .27 left hip & .19 right hip - EXCELLENT hips. Maverick is also the sire CH Doga Farms Lokum is the dam of Zeki who won Best Male at Dortmund Germany May 2, 2008 and who just earned his FCI European Champion title this past weekend 3/28/08 in Poland. He was awarded the following: Excellent 1 st, CWC, CACIB, Best male, Best of Breed and by winning this he is now nominated for the 2009 Cruft Show in England. Misty Acres Zeki earned his points to now hold the FCI Czech & Polish Champion Title. Also, Zeki's hips were recently checked officially under FCI rule with the result of 0/0. That means no evidence of HD and the best results as can be obtained in Europe. We are VERY PROUD of both Maverick and the dam, Doga Farms Lokum for producing this excellent example of the Kangal Breed. Maverick is one of the most muscled Kangal male that we own. We have at times called him Arnold Schwarzenegger as Mav reminds us of a weight lifter with excellent muscle definition. Even so he moves with grace and speed. Maverick is a true hero on our farm. He demonstrated to us his Kangal heritage and deeply ingrained guardian traits. and how he helped with the kidding of a Nubian doe. He saved the does life and Molly became our farm mascot.
