Misty Acres Inca Meet Inca. She is a Purebred Kangal. Kangal Dogs - "Are a National Treasure of Turkey, to be respected and preserved." Inca is the MOST FANTASTIC & WONDERFUL livestock dog that anyone could ever wish for. I would be in heaven if every one of my dogs were a carbon copy of Inca. Her sire Kahraman and dam Yasemin are FANTASTIC working dogs as well and all three dogs have wonderful temperaments. But, the very BEST of the BEST from both sire and dam came together and produced Inca. So much can be said about her working abilities, that it would fill a book. I have spent hours upon hours watching her work stock and it is always so relaxing & gratifying to do so. In the morning and evenings when the sheep are the most active, I sit out on our deck with a glass of tea and relax watching her work. Inca works livestock 24/7 and has done so since she was a very young puppy. When working, Inca is like poetry/art in motion. She is trusted and loved by the stock she protects. Her movements are slow, methodical, and calculated. She slowly winds her way around and among the sheep and goats with fluid movements. But, make no mistake, she is all serious business when the need arises.
9/26/09 - Inca has matured into such a lovely gal. So sweet natured and great with all livestock.
10/08 - I dearly love this photo. It shows three generations of working Kangals on our farm. On your far left is Yasemin. In the middle is Inca - Yasemin's daughter. On your right is Inca's daughter/Yasemin's Granddaughter. Wonderful, wonderful gals with exceptional temperament, conformation, and working ability.
8/08 - We have many visitors to the farm each year. This was a special occasion as Eric and Rena had gotten a puppy from Inca & Safak's litter this past April 08. Both Eric & Rena visited from Kansas & wanted to see the sire and dam of their Tara who works Alpacas on their farm. The photo on the left is a nice photo of both Inca & Eric. In the photo on the right Inca is getting a much LOVED ear/head scratch from Eric. She had decided on the spot that both Rena & Eric were ok in her book. I have never seen Inca so very happy with a new person she met as she was with Eric.
This photo taken 10/14/07 is of Inca sharing a blade of grass with a sheep. The sheep went to where Inca was and is touching his head with Inca's. Behind the sheep that is with Inca is Yasemin, Inca's mom.
