First Milk 1/29/06

As we enter the forth week since birth there are more changes that occur with the pups.  Yasemin needs all the help she can get feeding a huge family of 14 puppies.  Yesterday I tried to supplement the pups with bowls of milk.  They were not ready yet.  This evening they are.  I am calling this day First Milk.  In the first photo Amanda is putting warm milk in a little bowl.  The pup is checking out the milk and decides this is good stuff :)

In the bottom two photos some brothers and sisters are gathering for a drink.  At this stage of life they tend to wear more milk that we would like.  You can see some white on the backs of some of the pups in the photos.  After drinking the pups lick each others mouths to get the milk that is left.  Then Mom (Yasemin) comes in and cleans them all up as well as any left over milk.

      Here we have it - EYES OPEN !
