Terms of Sale - Firm  !

In order to provide our customers with quality animals, we carefully considered our Breeding Plans for 2010.  We continually strive to produce better and better stock.  Each passing year offers new challenges and we feel that those challenges are new opportunities.

We are constantly reviewing our animals performance, breed character, and production.  We will critically look at each years kid crop to see if we need to adjust our plans for improved lines.

Much time and effort is spent deciding on our breeding plans.  It is not a random effort and no quick decisions are made.  Therefore each year, we feel that does and bucks are bred to provide the best selection of kids.

We reserve the right to retain any kids born for the improvement of our herd.  We indicate ahead of time on our breeding plan what kids we plan to retain.  If you have a kid reserved, we will not keep the kid for ourselves even though we may dearly love to have that kid for our own herd.  After all, it is your reservation.

A  $100 deposit is required per kid for a reservation.  The balance is due within 2 weeks or 14 days after the kid is born unless discussed in advance.  

If we are unable to fill your order, the deposit will be returned.  If you cancel your reservation for ANY reason the $100 can be applied toward the purchase of another kid/breeding or semen from our AI sales page but will NOT be refunded.   

Prices may vary once kids are born if they have not been taken by reservation.  The prices above are pre-kidding prices.  

If you see a doe you would like to purchase you may contact us to see if we would consider selling her.  If we do agree to sell her then a 50 % deposit is required to hold the doe for you.  Payment in full is expected at least 3 weeks before the doe would be picked up or shipped out.  

These are NOT cull animals but only would be offered for sale because we must keep our herd to a size we can manage.  It will be very hard for me to decide which does will be offered for sale and which will stay each year.

Regarding our older does or first fresheners:   If purchased before their milk star has been earned, we will retain that doe until we have completed earning her milk star unless the purchaser is on milk test.  The same arrangements as stated above would apply.

On all bucks that are sold:  All bucks are sold with the agreement that we may purchase up to 20 straws of semen at the collection cost.  If you do decide to purchase a buck from us, we ask that you do not market his semen until his daughters have freshened and been evaluated in milk.

We do ship kids out by airlines or you can arrange for transport services.  We would prefer that you pick up your animals here at the farm if possible.  We like to meet you and show you around the farm.  It is a great chance to see the sire and dams of your kids.

Prices for the animals do NOT include crates, shipping, testing that purchaser requests, health certificates, or transportation to the airport.  We will purchase the crate, take the animals to the vet for testing/certificates and take the animals to the airport after we have received funds for the purchaser for these items.   There is a $100 charge to transport the animal to the Chicago O'Hare airport.  The charge to transport to the Grand Rapids airport is $35.

Kids are to be shipped out or picked up by 6 weeks of age.  After 6 weeks of age,  if it is agreeable to the seller to keep the kid until a later date, a fee of $3.50 charge a day (paid in advance) will be expected for board and care of the kid.  

You are responsible for setting up your own transportation of your animal.  Unless the kid is being transported to the airports (with the fees as noted above being paid) you will need to have the kid picked up at our farm from your transportation service.  We MAY at times (if it can be worked out) meet folks at a transport/pick up point.  We do expect to be reimbursed for any of our expenses related to taking your kid to that transport/pick up area.
