There are just not enough words to describe Arkadas. He is a wonderful Kangal male with an excellent temperament & working ability. He is a farm favorite. Everyone LOVES Arkadas. Photos 2/1/09

Arkadas is a very special Kangal male imported to
us directly from Turkey as a very small puppy. His breeder is the
well known Onur Kanli of Turkey. Onur is noted throughout Turkey,
Europe, & the United States for his excellence as a breeder of Kangals.
We feel it is a privilege & an honor that we own 4 Kangal dogs from Onur
Kanli's lines.
Onur has been a major contributor and is
responsible for helping lay the groundwork for the Turkish Kennel Club. He
is also the chairman of the Turkish Shepherds' Dog Protection Society. Onur
has played an integral part working with the FCI and having FCI judges at the
shows of the Turkish Kennel Club. To this day, Onur continues to
actively work toward future recognition of Kangal dog by the FCI.
Arkadas has ALWAYS been a favorite on our farm. His sweet nature wins everyone over. He is very tall, lean, and naturally muscled. "Arki" has always reminded me of a marathon runner. I think I will always remember the unique way that Arkadas wags his tail. It is like a lazy fan waving slowly in a summer breeze with a cork screw motion. He is doing that special wag in the photo below. Without acceptation, when people come for a tour of our farm, they want their photos take with Arkadas.
Arkadas has worked livestock since a puppy and has
done a fantastic job. However, make no mistake. He takes his job as
livestock guardian to heart. He is all serious business if there is any
threat from a predator.
Arkadas has been guarding our Alpacas. Rena & Eric from Kansas visited our farm. Arkadas decided right away that Rena and Eric were ok humans. He loved the Alpaca's instantly and the Alpacas accepted him on the spot. Arkadas is so very comfortable with Rena in the photo that he allowed her to put all the Alpaca leads over his back to hold for her as she began clipping leads on each Alpaca for foot trimming time. 8/30/08 Click here to see photos of Arkadas as a puppy.
