Meet Ancient Warrior.  He is a Purebred Sivas Kangal Kopegi.

Imported from Turkey - Onur Kanli (Breeder). 

Kangal Dogs - "Are a National Treasure of Turkey, to be respected and preserved."

Ancient Warrior represents new genetics which will help the United States very limited Purebred Kangal gene pool.

Ed on the way to pick out our male puppy.    In the background is the shepherd that has the sire and dam.  Onur bred both the sire and dam and gave the pair to the shepherd for guarding the flocks.

Ancient Warrior comes from actual working Kangal lines in Turkey.  Warrior was born out in the field where the sheep are.  To your left is a photo of his birth place.  On the right, is a photo of Warrior's litter sister.  Ed really loved Warrior from the moment he saw him and so he picked Ancient Warrior.

When Warrior arrived home with Ed, Warrior wanted to get in with the goats right away.  He pulled on the leash to go see the goats and then tried to squeeze under the gate to get in with them.  He has very strong livestock instincts.  He is a very bold Kangal male and has no fear even at his young age.

   This is a photo that Ed took of Ancient Warrior's Sire - 6/09.  Ancient Warrior's Grandsire is a very well known Kangal in Turkey.

Onur & Alp took Ed to see Ancient Warrior's full brother.  Ed was able to take a couple of photos of Ancient Warrior's brother while in Turkey - 6/09.

                10/25/09 - Ancient Warrior has been in with goats since he arrived at the farm.  He is doing a FANTASTIC job.
